Our project-based three-day workshop is an introduction to the methods of Lean and Six Sigma. This course is ideal for anyone who wants to learn about Lean Six Sigma concepts and tools and how to apply them. Participants will learn to contribute to Process Improvement, Reduce Waste, Boost Productivity and Increase Profitability.

Prerequisites

A suitable Project must have been identified to use in the programme, generally over 12 weeks. Projects need to be scoped as a problem where the solution will be implemented around week 8 so that improvements can be demonstrated for the last 4 weeks.

Measure

• AS IS Process Map using Deployment Map
• Spaghetti Diagram
• Data Collection Plan

Programme Outline for Day 2

Analyse
• Process Map analysis – value analysis, waste analysis
• Root Cause analysis – cause & effect diagram with cause screening, 5Whys

Improve
• Creative Thinking Techniques (Anti-solution, SCAMPER, Brainstorming)
• Solution screening using PICK Chart
• Implementation Plan
• TO BE Process Map using Deployment Map

Control
• Control Methods -Standardise the process, 5S, Visual Management, mistake proofing
• Ongoing Monitoring
• Control Plan
• Data to support the new process

Programme Outline for Day 3

• Project mentoring – checking technical aspects of the tools
• Developing the application of the tools

Certification Criteria

Yellow Belt Training completed, Project delivered as per the goal using the DMAIC methodology, tools technically correct.

Timeline proposed

Online: 4 weeks between each training day with a target project completion of 12 weeks.
In-person / Blended: Day 1 & 2 delivered consecutively. Day 3 to be held about week 6-8 with a view to project completion within 12 weeks.
